PALM BAY INTERNATIONAL Le Blanc de Greysac 2023 BACKGROUND Château Greysac, located in the Médoc hamlet of Begadan, north of St. Estèphe, was built in the 1700s. The estate was purchased by the visionary Jean Guyon in 2012. Guyon, a tastemaker and designer who famously moved in the circles of fine art and couture fashion, arrived with a very clear objective: to craft fine wines with the same care and attention to detail as a Cru Classé, but at far more approachable prices. By modernizing the winery, he carefully combined the best traditions of Bordeaux with new technology and, looking to the future, has overhauled vineyard practices with sustainability in mind. In 2018, his efforts began paying serious dividends when the estate was classified as Cru Bourgeois Supérieur. As the largest land owner in the Médoc, Guyon also enjoys full control over quality and consistency that few other Bordelaise châteaux can claim. Le Blanc de Greysac is Guyon's special estate-bottled project, showcasing 100% pure Sauvignon Blanc. TERROIR & VINTAGE NOTES The vines, averaging 15 years old, are from carefully selected parcels on clay-limestone soils. The 2023 growing season in Bordeaux produced white wines with excellent aromatic intensity and freshness. After a wet spring, the warm and sunny summer allowed Sauvignon Blanc to reach optimal ripeness while preserving vibrant acidity. Careful vineyard management and early harvesting helped maintain the bright, crisp character that defines the finest Bordeaux dry whites. WINEMAKING & AGING The grapes are from Château Greysac's estate, harvested at night to preserve the freshness of the fruit. The team vinify in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks and the wine is bottled under a Stelvin closure to preserve aromatic complexity. TASTING NOTES An aromatic and vibrant style, bursting with citrus, lemon zest, and white peach notes. Notes of tropical fruit and fresh herbs follow on the palate, accented by a nervy acidity. Smooth and refreshing, with a clean and vibrant finish.
