<!-- image --> <!-- image --> ## Passito di Noto DOC 2020 ## B A C K G R O U N D Planeta's journey began at Sambuca di Sicilia, on the estate owned by the family since the 1600s. Here, three enthusiastic young Sicilians, Alessio, Francesca and Santi Planeta, under the guidance of Diego Planeta, began their winemaking venture in the mid-1980s. Subsequent years were spent matching the extraordinarily diverse Sicilian soils with both indigenous and international varieties. Planeta today encompasses six distinct wine estates in ve regions across Sicily; Ulmo at Sambuca di Sicilia, Dispensa at Men, Dorilli at Vittoria, Buonivini at Noto, Sciara Nuova on Etna at Castiglione di Sicilia, and the newest addition, La Baronia at Capo Milazzo. Each vineyard site is carefully cultivated with grapes that best compliment the local terroir. All of the company's activities have a single theme; environmental sustainability. ## T E R R O I R & V I N T A G E N O T E S The soil is composed of calcareous marl, abundant and small skeleton; ne texture with light colored clay fraction. The vinyards grow at an altitude of 40 meters above sea level. ## WINE M A KI N G & A G I N G The harvest period ran from August 25th through 30th. The grapes were picked when well ripened at the end of August and then dried in the fruit cellar. Six weeks of drying guaranteed a high concentration of sugars and some natural transformation of the grapes contributes to the extraordinary aromas of apricot, rose petals, papaya and quince. When half their weight has been lost, about 40 days later, the grapes are pressed and the must thus obtained, which is particularly rich in sugars. ## TA S T I N G N O T E S Sweet and eshy but also lively with citrus notes; It recalls nougat and candied ginger. Explosive aromas of exotic fruit, jasmine, candied citrus fruit are complex but easy to admire. <!-- image --> 500ML <!-- image --> <!-- image --> <!-- image --> <!-- image --> ## PLANETA ## ORIGIN Sicilia Noto DOC, Sicily, Italy GRA P E VA R I E T I E S 100% Moscato Bianco S I Z E S 500ml ## T E C H N I C A L D E T A I L S ABV: 12%, TA: 7.3, RS: 176, Ph: 3.28, Closure: Cork WINE M A KE R Patricia Toth <!-- image -->
